ScapeCon is an international series of conferences organized by and for early career scholars in Aegean prehistoric archaeology. Since its creation in 2018, the goal has been to provide, on a yearly basis, a space in a different institution and country for young researchers to present their work on various aspects of a given theme. The 8th edition of ScapeCon, titled 'No Escape Timinig. Life cycles, seasonality and human activities in Bronze Age Aegean', is organized by a committee of phd students, postdoctoral researchers from the University of Catania, in Sicily (Italy). The University of Catania has a long-standing tradition in Aegean studies. The discipline was first firmly established here in 1981 with the introduction of the Chair of Aegean Archaeology by Professor Vincenzo La Rosa, whose pioneering work and dedication significantly contributed to the development of Aegean archaeology. The university is also home to the Centro di Archeologia Cretese (Center for Cretan Archaeology), which continues to promote research, fieldwork, and scholarly collaboration focused on Bronze Age Crete and the wider Aegean world. In this context, hosting ScapeCon8 in Catania offers an exceptional opportunity to bring together young scholars engaged in Aegean prehistory within a vibrant academic environment that has always been deeply connected to the field. The conference aims to foster dialogue, exchange of ideas, and new perspectives on the rhythms of life, time, and human practices in the Bronze Age Aegean. We warmly invite all early career researchers to join us in Catania for an engaging and thought-provoking event.
